Total Defenestration Devlog 1

The main thing that changed during prototyping and following feedback was the decision on my part to give some passages only one option to pick from. Originally, I figured that every passage in part 1 would feature 2 options, but things got out of control fast. There were also some passages that existed solely to move the story forward, with no intention on my part to create multiple choices from. What I ended up deciding on during prototyping was, essentially, to give the player a passage with only one option after they picked a correct choice, and the incorrect choice would have led to a game over. This way, the story can move forward and the player can be rewarded for their correct choice while still keeping the branches under control.

My approach to prototyping was, essentially, to just start making the game I intend on making. I will make my game in Twine, and I started prototyping in Twine by just beginning to write the story for the game, and seeing what comes up and when. I found this to be productive, and a good approach for prototyping this game in particular.

Another thing that I noticed was that I was able to finish part 1 (of 3) pretty quickly, and maybe there is less content than I would like in total. Parts 2 and 3 will be bigger and feature more branches, but still, I think that I just wrote the story I wanted to write, and found it naturally building into part 2, and so that's just what it became. I would maybe like to go back and find one or 2 more branches to put in part 1.
